About the Forum
The goal of the Forum on International Education (held since 2013) is an open professional discussion about the most interesting trends in the development of international education.
Traditionally, representatives of 80 to 100 state and public organizations and higher education institutions from almost 20 countries of the world, including Russia, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Benin, Great Britain, India, Spain, Iceland, Italy, Canada, Cyprus, China, New Zealand, Slovakia, USA, Switzerland, Finland, France.

Russian participants represent higher education institutions from Arkhangelsk, Astrakhan, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kirov, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Kazan, Moscow, Norilsk, Orel, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Saratov, Tomsk, Tyumen and others cities of the country.

Among the Forum participants are vice-rectors, heads of departments of international cooperation, marketing, recruitment, advisors, project managers, coordinators of international programs and cooperation programs.
Forum 2018: Results
On March 28-29, 2018, the Forum for International Education "Export of Education: Standards, Models, Resources" was held in Moscow. The purpose of the Forum was reviewing by the professional community the ability of Russian universities to develop education as a national resource for intangible exports, discussing strategies of increasing attractiveness and competitiveness in the international market and increase the number of foreign students.
Representatives of state, public, private organizations and higher education institutions from Belgium, Benin, Great Britain, Spain, Iceland, Cyprus, China, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Russia, the USA, Switzerland, Finland and France attended the Forum.

Russian participants represented higher educational institutions from Volgograd, Voronezh, Kazan, Krasnodar, Moscow, Novocherkassk, Novosibirsk, Pskov, Rostov-on-Don, St. Petersburg, Sevastopol, Stavropol, Tyumen.
Among them are the Volgograd State Agricultural University, Voronezh State University, State University of Land Use Planning, Don State Technical University, Eurasian Open Institute, European University (St. Petersburg), Irkutsk National Research Technical University, Institute of Economics, Management and Law (Kazan), National University of Science and Technology MISiS, Moscow School for the Social and Economic Sciences, Moscow Automobile and Road Construction University, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow University for the Humanities, MEPhI, MFIA, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Novosibirsk State University, Pskov State University, Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Gubkin Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University, Sevastopol State University, Stavropol State Agrarian University, Tyumen State University, Tyumen Industrial University, Innopolis University, Financial University, Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI).

The Forum was not only a platform for the university community representatives. Among those who shared their vision of the export opportunities of Russian education were the representatives of the Russia Today Agency, Rossotrudnichestvo, the Russian Export Center, FGBU Interobrazovanie, the Sociological Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation as well as the Russian companies actively working in foreign markets such as NordGold and Sercons, consulting and marketing companies I-Graduate, International Education Advantage (INTEAD), Ashmanov & Partners,, public organizations "The African Business Initiative", Association of Russian Educational Advisors.

Foreign guests of the Forum were the representatives of the Graduate School of Business (Grenoble, France), the Universities of Arkansas (USA), Bifrost (Iceland), Victoria (Wellington, New Zealand), Ghent (Belgium), Nicosia (Cyprus), Southampton (United Kingdom), HAMK University Of Applied Sciences (Finland), University of Colorado-Pueblo (USA), University of Essex (Great Britain), Swiss Educational Group. The Forum was also supported by the marketing company HigherEdme (France).

"Shaninka" - Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences, an academic partner of the Forum which developed and implemented a unique program of professional development for employees of international services of higher education institutions.

Through the Forum's five plenary sessions, two round table discussions and three panel discussions, the participants had a chance to debate on models of the export of Russian education and proven strategies and tactics for promoting foreign educational institutions in the global and local markets.

The sessions topics were the following: "International Higher Education Market", "Entering the Global and Local Markets: Strategies, Investments, Evaluation of the Results", "Business Projects of Universities in the field of Implementing Communication Strategies for Recruiting Foreign Students: Trends, Ideas, Methods"," Direction - Africa. Russian and international experience of interaction of state, public and private organizations in the field of recruiting foreign students", "Global and Regional Competition. Digital marketing and student recruitment", "Foreign students in the Russian labor market. Features and advantages of employment in comparison with other categories of foreign workers", "Programs in English for Russian and foreign students: what programs are successfully sold in domestic and foreign markets and how to create them?"

The participants were offered the results of international scientific and comparative studies in the field of researching preferences of the target youth audience regarding the choice of educational programs abroad in countries that have proved their eductation level to be sustainably high on all levels: Great Britain, Germany, the United States of America, France, Sweden, Finland.

With the support of the experts from "Russia Today", Forum participants thoroughly examined the issues related to implementation of the communication strategies of universities in foreign markets, their role in recruiting foreign students and, at the same time, strengthening educational partnership as an important component of Russian Federation's foreign policy.

During a panel discussion, a public organization "African Business Initiative" helped to tackle an important issue of interaction with graduates of Soviet and Russian universities, the need of expansion the practice of using modern forms of work and their active inclusion in the promotion of Russian education. The discussion was attended by the representatives of Russian companies actively working in African countries, which suggested specific way of coordinating the efforts of Russian companies and the university community.

According to the participants, the Forum on International Education became a platform for open practice-oriented and professional discussions of problems related to recruiting foreign students, reviewing the best techniques of Russian and foreign universities, developing recommendations for further development of mutually beneficial international cooperation as well as a starting point for new partnerships and projects.
